Enkasa Apparel By Myles : The Suit Maker

A few weeks ago, a friend introduced me to an industrious young man whom he referred to as Enkasa. Before meeting him personally, I was curious and inquired if that was his real name. "That is the name of his clothing line" my friend proudly said.

In four days time, I met this young man in person and I had the privilege of listening to his story of how he got into sewing of fashionable and elegant suits.

That day, my friend brought me a shirt which read: Enkasa, apparel by Myles. Myles was sharply dressed in an orange tuxedo. He also carried a handset. I was really impressed by his work and will like to share his amazing story with the world especially you. Get to hear what he has to say when I asked him about enkasa!

Enkasa Apparel is a clothing line which currently sews made in Ghana suits for men. Why the name Enkasa? Enkasa in twi  literally  means: don't talk. Growing up,  he was told to let the fruits of his actions do the talking. Years on, Myles chose Enkasa. Which simply means: with Enkasa apparel, you don't do the talking, your apparel does the talking for you.

Enkasa apparel was set up five months ago by Myles Awuku, a twenty five year old graduate of the University of Ghana. During his national service with the National Commission for Civic Education in Ada, he decided to cater for orphans because he identified with the frustrations, difficulties and hunger homeless and orphans go through.
After his national service and failed attempts at securing a job regardless of the numerous application letters he wrote, he decided to start his own clothing line. A clothing line not because he was into fashion or to make profit but to enable him provide employment opportunities for others and also to fulfill his dream of catering for orphans.

Having been raised by a single mother for ten years before she finally passed away, Myles Awuku grew up without both parents as his father also died  right after his Mum did. Life was not easy growing up as an orphan and he has resolved to make life easier for orphans no matter where he finds himself. Owning a clothing line would enable him pursue this cause as it would give him a voice: providing a means of employment for others as well as catering for orphans.

Though Enkasa is just five months old, he fed over sixty children of the New Life Orphanage on the 28th March, 2015. A day after his birthday supported by friends. Last December, he was supported by  Focus Xtreme to fete for orphans at Tetegu near Mccarthy.

Currently, Enkasa apparel, located in Dzorwulu, designs  for all occasions including weddings and has designed for some people in the USA, Dubai and some Ghanaian celebrities.

The future looks bright for this young man as he hopes to sell the Enkasa brand world wide. Wondering if he designs for women, Watch out for the Enkasa  Woman You: skirt, suit and blazer coming soon in memory of his late mum :Charlotte. The story of Enkasa cannot be told without acknowledging Mr.Martin Awuku  who has been very supportive of this dream from day one.

If you ever spot the guy in suit with the antique handset, it simply means: don't talk, let your apparel do the talking for you.

Your passion and zeal is admirable.

Long live Enkasa Apparel
